First thing, we would like to say thank you for your continued support of the SEPRI. Together, we are going to bring high quality rail to the Southeast. Second, we want to give you an update on the SEPRI as well as some information about current rail travel. We are currently short of our January fundraising goal. Please consider giving a tax deductible contribution of just $5 that will help us achieve our mission. Your contribution will help us bring on new staff, grow our education activities and further expand our reach so everyone will know the benefits of passenger rail.
Amtrak is having a sale for their USA Rail Pass. The deal is ten segments for $299. According to Amtrak that is a savings of $200. Long distance trains are a great way to see the country. If you are interested in saving some money and traveling this spring make sure to get your pass! Pass is valid for 120 days after purchase (30 days after first segment is traveled). The SEPRI is looking to fill two positions within our organization. The positions include a part time fundraiser and a social media intern. If you or anyone you know is looking to make a difference in the Southeast, please go to our jobs page and learn more about thes open positions.
Brightline has finally opened two new stations at Aventura and Boca Raton. Trains are currently running from these stations hourly north toward West Palm Beach and south toward Miami. As part of their opening, Brightline is offering $10 tickets from these two stations for a limited time.
Virginia and Florida have updated their state rail plans which include new passenger services. More information will be posted soon so stay tuned! As always we appreciate all those who support the SEPRI team and together we will make the southeast #READYFORRAIL - SEPRI
